In addition to reviewing the COLAAB's work to define and document animal methods bias, this chapter examines the historical and systemic factors that sustain animal methods bias, and places it within wider conversations about peer review, scientific conservatism, publication bias, and research incentives. It also offers practical recommendations for mitigating animal methods bias in publishing, funding, and institutional decision-making.
